ABOLITION OF COUNCIL TAX A VOTE WINNER, SAYS SHERIDAN
At a press conference in Glasgow today, Tommy Sheridan greeted the results of a new poll showing the Scottish Socialist Party at 10% in the polls.
He said,
“I am delighted that we are showing a significant increase in our support in the polls. I have no doubt that one of the key reasons is our pledge to abolish the unfair council tax and replace it with the Scottish Service Tax. Our own opinion poll shows that 70% of people in Scotland back this measure, which will benefit 77% of Scots.
After Thursday there will be a determined group of SSP MSPs who will pursue this objective. The days of the council tax like the poll tax before it are numbered.”
