SCOTTISH SOCIALISTS WELCOME LIBERAL CONVERSION
The Scottish Socialist Party today welcomed the statement from Canon Kenyon Wright, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Stirling who said if elected, he would only claim £24,000 a year of his £48,000 a year salary as an MSP.

Tommy Sheridan said,

“I welcome Canon Kenyon Wright’s commitment to only taking half his salary as an MSP. This has long been the policy of the SSP and we agree with him that this is a salary that should keep us in touch with ordinary people. I challenge all the candidates in Scotland to say whether they will live on £24,000 a year if they are elected to the Scottish Parliament.”
