SSP UNVEILS SHOCK NEW REPORT ON EDINBURGH ROYAL INFIRMARY AND PFI
PRESS INVITATION:
FRIDAY 25 APRIL, 11 A.M.
AUGUSTINE UNITED CHURCH,
GEORGE IV. BRIDGE, EDINBURGH

Tomorrow at a press conference in Edinburgh the Scottish Socialist Party will unveil details of a critical new report on the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary which shows that its Private Finance funding will cause it major problems.

The research by Professor Allyson Pollock at University College London, the leading authority on PFI, raises fundamental questions about the future of PFI in Scotland.

The press conference will be hosted by Colin Fox, top of the list SSP candidate for Edinburgh & Lothians and a local hospital worker. Colin said,

“The new ERI was built on the basis of 25% less staff and 33% fewer beds. It will cost Edinburgh taxpayers almost ten times the original amount of investment to pay back over the next 25 years. The Scottish Socialist Party is totally opposed to using private finance for our schools and hospitals. It is a lie that PFI is best value or the only game in town and I fully expect Allyson Pollock’s latest report to back that up.”
