Marek under attack as he gathers the left

Dr John Marek, the deselected Labour AM for Wrexham who won re-election as an independent, is hosting a "summer gathering" in his constituency that will be addressed by Scottish Socialist Party leader Tommy Sheridan.

Dr Marek said an increasing number of people realised that Labour was now a right-of-centre party and were ready to see the establishment of a new left-wing party in Wales that drew on socialist traditions. The Western Mail
