A campaign to raise £1m for national memorials to the Queen Mother in Scotland has been launched by the first minister.
The plans for a memorial were criticised by the Scottish Socialist Party.
A spokesman said: "The best thing the Royal family could do is funnel the wealth they have to the people to alleviate the plight of the working classes.
"It is about time they give up the millions they grasp greedily and give it to the thousands of people who are living in poverty."
